Oklahoma native Chad Burris, of the Chickasaw Nation, has been nominated for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Award's Piaget Producers Award for his film Mosquita y Mari. Chad is the founder of Indion Group, through which he developed the first private film incentive in the state of Oklahoma. He has be influential in financing a number of feature films within our state, and has been a crucial supporter of the film industry in Oklahoma. Chad has produced award-winning films, including Goodnight Irene, Four Sheets to the Wind, and Barking Water by Oklahoma filmmaker Sterlin Harjo. He has also worked with Michael Winterbottom on the feature The Killer Inside Me, which stars Jessica Alba, Kate Hudon, and Casey Affleck, Famke Janssen's Bringing Up Bobby, and Nick Cassavetes feature, Yellow, all of which were filmed in Oklahoma. Congratulations Chad! Be sure to tune in to the Spirit Awards (one of the most entertaining award shows on air, in our opinion), on February 25th on IFC.
